The Captain is not a patient man. (Under-statement of the year.)

He is –

  • Kind.

  • Generous.

  • Loving.

  • Protective.

He is not –

  • Patient.

I’ve learnt to anticipate his moves.

He says he wants to be in the car and driving at 6.00 a.m?

I’ll be ready at 5.45 a.m.

More than that – the previous evening I would’ve set out –

  • My clothes.

  • My tote with knitting, book and water bottle. (I won’t survive without those.)

  • Case ready to be closed once my toothbrush goes in.

  • Anything the dogs might need for a 10 hour plus road trip.

For close on 2000 years now Christians have been expecting Christ to return and take us home with Him.

It started with the apostles. I guess that was one way of keeping everyone on their toes!

It has echoed through the ages but has become pretty much a case of blah-blah-blah.

But one day He will return.

I keep in mind that today might be THE day.

The bag that is my lifestyle, my actions, my thoughts remain packed and ready.

Just in case.
