ONE BRIEF SHINING MOMENT
It’s so long ago now, that unexpected, glorious POPP (Pocket of Perfect Peace.) that I had driving to work one morning in La Plata MD.
Ever since I’ve been striving to recapture that one perfect brief, shining moment. I’ve come close at times but never quite got there. I have decided the Man upstairs showed me a glimpse of heaven and then gently led me down the mountain to get on with life the best I can.
Which set me thinking of St. Paul and his revelation on the Road to Damascus. His was not a POPP but a somewhat rude awakening. I don’t believe he ever did experience a POPP rather; his life was a continuous search.
Phil.3:12 “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected, but I press on that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of for me.” (NKJV)
There is power in the day to day experience of being in Christ. For which I’m grateful. That does not mean I don’t regularly stumble or even fall flat on my face.
It’s a journey I’m on, a life-long journey. Like St. Paul I’m learning and try to live keeping His teaching in mind. So
Whatever things are true;
Whatever things are noble;
Whatever things are just;
Whatever things are pure;
Whatever things are lovely
If there is any virtue, if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.
Now, this kinds of meditation I can do! All I need do is avoid “ugly” and live life the best I can.
Cyber hugs and as always, many blessings. Enjoy the video I picked for you.
