BONDING OVER A SHOPPING CART.
One of my pet peeves is people who leave shopping carts all over the place, aka parking lots. Consider it one of my “little services without expecting recognition” that time and again I restore carts to a safe and correct place.
Exiting Kohl’s after an unsuccessful trip (not even in Florida can you buy a swimsuit in November), I spied this cart next to a handicap parking spot and a lady next to the trolley. Assuming “incorrectly’ that she’d finished shopping and was leaving, I offered to return the cart but “no”, she said. “It was here, I had to move it to park.”
Naturally it was chat-chat, followed by my “hug” request and what do you know but as she walked away, with the cart, she echoed my marine –
“There should be more stuff like that.”
