As 2017 limps to the finish line, I find myself trapped in a capsule of negative thoughts.

  • On the World Stage:  the drama of war, refugees, humanitarian crises and more continue.

  • Closer to home, here in America the Beautiful: murder, corruption, scandal and stupidity.

  • On my Personal Stage: An ever-changing, never-ending repertoire of loss and sadness for family and friends.

There’s little I can change.

I fret.

I worry.

I drink too much coffee

I meditate on a snippet of the Serenity Prayer.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

I’m a great believer in the Power of Physical Activity. It truly helps to clear my mind so I push myself as hard as I can under the watchful eye of my trainer.

A trainer.

Someone watching over me.

A skilled knowledgeable person scrutinizing my every move.

Watching over me.

I look at the 2018 with new yes. I no longer ponder that we might be looking at the end of times. “Que sera sera.” (Sorry! Had to use that phrase.)

  • I no longer worry about the world.

  • Or my friends.

  • Or my family.

  • Or my followers reading this.

I care, deeply.

But I no longer worry.

Because there’s a Trainer far far away that’s watching.

That I don’t mess up and when I do, show me the right way.

And that’s my New Year’s Wish for each and everyone in this wide and beautiful world.

That you “get” that Personal Trainer.” So far away.

Yet so near in the form of the Holy Spirit.

New Years’ resolutions are superfluous. With the Holy Spirit watching and guiding,

  • You will make the right decisions and stay with it.

  • And avoid the wrong ways and stay with it.

With a grateful heart, brimming over with love, I send you,

Cyber hugs and New Year Blessings. May 2018  be all you wish it to be.
